With nearly all of its 11 schools overcrowded, and an additional 10,000 students expected, the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (TX) needed additional classrooms, and updated facilities to meet the changing needs of students. A comprehensive facility study was completed and the community decided that a bond issue should be placed on the ballot to fund facility improvements.
We developed and helped implement a comprehensive informational and vote yes strategy that was rooted in strong public opinion research and a community created plan. The end result was a bond issue referendum that passed with 74.65% yes votes.
