The Cottleville Fire Protection District (MO) had the oldest fleet of fire trucks in the area and aging firefighter gear and other life-saving equipment, they were also in need of a pension fund increase. They had an important story to tell their community, and Creative Entourage helped them do it during two referendum campaigns in 2020.
For the April 2020 election, our team developed an informational communications program to inform their community about a $16 million, zero tax rate change bond proposal. The program included theme and message development, direct mail, digital advertising, video production and website content creation. Three weeks before Election Day, the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns began and the April election was moved to June. Creative Entourage helped update the communications effort and on June 2, Proposition Fire passed with 81.6% voter approval.
The District’s pension fund was in dire need of additional funding, there had not been an increase in the fund in more than 25 years. To meet the need, the fire district placed Prop. Health on the November 2020 ballot. Our team stepped in to help with the informational effort in a similar manner to what had been done in the Spring. With record voter turnout, more than three times what was experienced in June 2020, the proposal passed with 51.6% voter approval.
